It has been said over and over this season for the Miami Heat, but they look like two totally different teams for each half of many of their games
this season and last night against the Bucks was no different. To be honest, last night the Heat really only seemed to play one quarter of inspired basketball. They started off the game on fire! The team scored 40 points in the first quarter, including 24 from LeBron James, who outscored the Bucks by himself. “The first half, it felt like LeBron was going to go for like 60 or whatever,” Brandon Jennings said. LeBron finished the game with 40 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals, showing he is well on his way to another MVP award at the end of the season if he keeps this all up. After scoring 40 points in the first quarter the Heat didn’t top or match that mark in any of the other three quarters combined.

Beyond LeBron, the Heat got 23 points from Dwyane Wade, who did most of his damage during a stretch in the third quarter when the Heat were trying to withstand the run from the Bucks. Miami also got solid play from Mario Chalmers, who scored 16 points, while Chris Bosh chipped in with 9 points and 9 rebounds. A key statistic from last night’s game was in the fourth quarter when Wade got his only steal of the game. It was his 1,000th career steal and allowed him to join a group of elite players with over 1,000 steals and 500 blocks for their career.

The Heat kept the lead up for most of the second quarter, but the third was a very different story. The Bucks came out of halftime looking to turn the tables on the Heat, led by Jennings and his great three point shooting last night. “You always give credit where credit is due,” James said. “They made some shots in the third quarter and fourth quarter. They got back into it. The made a run. We held it as much as possible.”

“What the second half showed is we still have a long way to go as a ball club just in the terms of playing consistently,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra
said. “We were playing very good basketball in the first half. It’s a fragile game. In this league it can go the other way quickly if you’re not staying consistent to your identity.”

With Milwaukee’s victory last night, it marks this first time this season a team has beaten the Heat twice. Miami plays the Bucks one more time this
season in about two weeks where it will look to avenge its first two losses and attempt to avoid the season sweep. The Heat have a very tough road test when they have to go to Philidelphia tomorrow night to take on the 76er’s who are playing very good basketball this season. Miami did beat them once already this season, but look for the Sixers to come out with more energy tomorrow night to start the game. Here’s to hoping we see the Heat play two full halves of basketball tomorrow.

It was yet another game of two totally different halves played by the Miami Heat. The New Orleans Hornets came out with their youth and shot the ball extremely well to start the game, jumping out to a lead as large as 11 points in the first half. Everything seemed to be falling for the Hornets
early on, but that all changed half way through the second quarter when Dwyane Wade came back into the game. The Heat were able to win another game, which gives them a 4-3 record on the second night of a back-to-back.

“We started the game in a little bit of a fog and they came out and played very sharply,” Spoelstra said. “They came out with a lot of energy…then
the game changed, I felt, in the second quarter. Dwyane really set the tone from that point on.”

Once Wade entered the game it gave the Heat the jolt of energy they were looking for. They started getting stops on the defensive end and turning
them into scores on the other. It was almost as if someone flipped a switch for things to go back to how people assumed the game would be going. Wade scored 11 of his 22 points in the second quarter, which really helped get his other teammates going as well. “When a guy like D-Wade has a rhythm, you’ve got to keep feeding him,” James said. “He brought us back.” LeBron James had yet another stat filled night finishing with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1 steal. Miami had a total of 6 players finish in double figures, including Mike Miller with 14, Chris Bosh and Norris Cole
with 12 each, and Mario Chalmers with 11 points.

Before the game New Orleans coach, Monty Williams, had a number a nice things to say about not only the Miami Heat and Pat Riley, but also of Eric Spoelstra. “Spo doesn’t get enough credit in my opinion for the ability to coach talent, supreme talent, every night,” WIlliams said.

A final side note to the game is LeBron James became the 17th player in NBA history with 17,000 points, 4,500 rebounds, and 4,500 assists. Of the first 16, 13 are already in the Hall of Fame, with the others not eligible yet to be inducted.

The Heat have to avenge their loss against the Bucks when they play them on Wednesday up in Milwaukee. Hopefully the Heat come out with energy from the start and don’t have to play catch-up.

After getting Dwyane Wade back against the New York Knicks on Friday night, where he played some fantastic basketball, the Miami Heat played the Chicago Bulls last night. Wade didn’t put up the same statistics he did against the Knicks, but the Heat came away with yet another victory against a top team in the league. LeBron James and Chris Bosh led the way for the Heat last night.

LeBron finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 block. He had to find a different method of transportation to arrive at the arena
yesterday morning because of the marathon that was down there that started and finished right in front of American Airlines Arena. LeBron chose to ride a custom made bike from his home, which is a few miles south of the arena, all the way to work that morning. The way he started the game it might be safe to say it’ll be something he does again. He came out with great speed and power. There were a few dunks he had in the first quarter
that took everyone out of their seats, including an alley oop, where he just went right over John Lucas III. It was one of those highlights that we
will see on ESPN for the rest of the season and could go down as one of the best dunks of the year.

The Heat got another solid game from Bosh, who finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. “The way I see it, every time we play the Bulls it’s going to be like that,” Bosh said. “It’s always going to be an atmosphere where nobody wants to lose and that’s how the playoffs are.”
Bosh looked like the same player that was playing when Wade missed games the last week plus. It is very reassuring to see him play well with Wade on the court. Wade added in 15 points with his 7 assists, but didn’t shoot the ball very well at all. Hopefully as he gets more playing time, his rhythm comes back more and his percentage will go up.

Derrick Rose became the first player this season to top the 30 point mark against the Heat, finishing with 34 points. He brought the Bulls back after
being down 11 points, but fell just short when he missed 2 free throws and a little runner in lane at the end of the game. The Heat now have a quick
turnaround as they host the New Orleans Hornets tonight. Even though they are a young team, the Heat need to be ready as they had a very tough game last night where LeBron put down more than 40 minutes of playing time.

Miami got the victory again last night, but it wasn’t pretty. Just like every other team the Heat face, the Pistons came out with great energy and
gave it their all throughout the game. Shane Battier started again in place of the injured Dwyane Wade, who missed his 9th game of the season. All
signs point to his return at home on Friday versus the New York Knicks.

The Heat were led again by the duo of LeBron James and Chris Bosh, who are top scoring teammates in the league this year. LeBron led the way last night with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. He also had a few highlight plays, including a behind the back inbounds pass to Mike
Miller for a layup. Bosh added 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. The best part about Bosh’ night was he only missed 3 field goals all
night going 12-15 from the field. The Heat also got a spark off of the bench from Miller who scored 10 points, which is his second highest scoring
mark this season, behind his first game back from injury when he had 18 points.

LeBron closed the game out going 6-6 from the free throw line. “I’ve just got to go up and make them,” James said. “When you get the opportunity, you go up and make them, and then you live with the results.”

With last night’s victory it puts the Heat at 13-5 on the season and in first place in the Southeast Division, with a half game lead over the
Orlando Magic. Miami has a very tough test on Friday against a big rival in the New York Knicks. Barring any setbacks Dwyane Wade should be back in uniform and ready to play against a team that has been up and down all season long. It should be a tough and physical game, so the Heat need to come out and bring their “A” game from the start.

It was yet another slow start for the Miami Heat last night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Heat looked flat and slow from the opening tip. Shane Battier got the start in place of Dwyane Wade, who was out for his 8th game of the season. It is becoming more and more obvious that the
players trying to step in for Wade are getting more and more exhausted.

Chris Bosh has played outstanding basketball while Wade had been out and last night’s game was no different. Bosh led the team in scoring for the
4th time this year and it was also his 4th time scoring over 30 points this season. He finish with 35 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block. The 35 points scored tied his career high in a Heat uniform. He also went 14-14 from the free throw line, with a good amount of them being in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter.

LeBron James had a somewhat quiet game against his old team. He is now 4-1 against them in the 5 games he’s played. James finished with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. The Heat also got a nice boost from Norris Cole off the bench, who has been in a shooting slump recently.

The Heat have a quick turn around as they play the Detroit Pistons tonight up in Detroit. Dwyane Wade flew with the team up there last night, but it is unknown if he will suit up for the team tonight or hold out for a comeback against the New York Knicks on Friday back in Miami. Whether he
plays or not the Heat need to show more energy from the start, like they were doing earlier this season.

The Miami Heat are taking something else from football mindset Coach Spoelstra has taken this season. During practice both Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole are wearing QB wristbands to call plays. This is to allow them the chance to better learn the plays and run the offense like a QB on a football field. It is a very interesting idea and seems to be working out quite well so far this season. The Heat have seen upgraded play from the point guard position this year over the last few.

“It looks just like a quarterback’s,” Chalmers said. “Something Peyton Manning or one of them will wear.”

Media outlets, fans, and who knows who else have started rumblings that the Miami Heat should trade Dwyane Wade since the Heat are 6-1 without him this season. That is just plain RIDICULOUS! Why would the Heat trade the face of the franchise? Why would they trade a guy who took less than the max to bring two other stars to town? Why would they trade a top 5 talent in the league? Why would they change up the roster and potential upset the chemistry already built? Why would they move a guy that could one day mean as much to South Florida as say Dan Marino?

It just doesn’t make sense why people jump to these conclusions so fast. Yes, the Heat have done very well with him out, but players on the roster
have stepped up to fill his void to a point for the time being. You can’t ask or even expect James Jones, Mike Miller, Shane Battier, and Mario
Chalmers to up there games for the remainder of the season to make Wade become irrelevant. This is Dwyane Wade we are talking about here. The same guy who led the Heat to the championship in 2005-2006 and the same guy that has put entire teams on his back throughout the entire season and into the playoffs.

Wade will be back and the Heat are doing the right thing in holding him out a little longer to make sure he is fully healed before stepping back onto
the court. There is no reason to rush it as it will most likely lead to the same issue of playing a few games and then missing a few if they don’t
allowing him the chance to be fully healthy. Pat Riley and Eric Spoelstra know exactly when the right time will be to bring him back.

So until Wade is hurting the team by being on the court or in the locker room, stop the nonsense and let this team fully mature into what it really
can be.

The Milwaukee Bucks came to town last night and got the Heat with some tired legs. Miami was on the second night of a back-to-back, after playing a great game against the Philadelphia 76er’s. This one had a bad feel to it from the start, when the Bucks were attacking the size advantage it hadwith Andrew Bogut over Joel Anthony. That caused Anthony to pick up two early fouls and forced the Heat to bring in Eddy Curry. It was Curry’s second game playing this year and he was average at best. You can easily tell that he is not near full game shape yet.

The game went back and forth for the most part, with LeBron James forced to do a lot of the heavy lifting in the first half. He had 20 points in the
first half, but only ended with 28 points for the entire game. LeBron had a great rebounding game with 13. Chris Bosh wasn’t able to really explode
like he had it previous games, and was held to 23 points.

Miami was held to a number of season lows last night including, points scored, field goal percentage, field goals made, and assists. This was also
the first time the team has lost all season with Dwyane Wade missing the game. Hopefully Wade won’t be out much longer and the Heat can be back to full strength very soon.

The Heat host the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night for the first time this season. Expect another big game from LeBron in this one…

Joel Anthony (Center) – Joel has shown energy from the first day he stepped on the court. He can’t shoot, although his hands are getting better. He does defend extremely well and has a knack for blocking shots. His timing is near perfect when he is going to try and block a shot.

Eddy Curry (Center) – Eddy has played 6 minutes all season, with last night versus the Lakers being his only time. He has lost weight, which is a
huge step for him, but we dont know how that will translate for him on the court. The Heat don’t need him to be the 18pt 10reb guy he was early in his career, but if he could give them solid minutes out there and be a force in the paint, it would really help them when they play teams with true 7 footers. Only time will tell if Eddy is here at the end of the season.

Mickell Gladness (Center/Power Forward) – Mickell is just happy as anything to still be with the team. He thought he was going to be cut after the preseason, but his hard work paid off and he is still here. His effort is what the Heat liked so much about him. He should only really see playing
time during a blowout, but it important for him to push the guys in front of him at practice to keep them working hard as well.

Dexter Pittman (Center) – Dexter was in the rotation earlier this season, but because of a slow start he has been pushed out and could see even less time as Eddy Curry gets healthier. He is a project player, but hte Heat expect him to seriously contribute in the near future. He just needs to learn to stay out of foul trouble first.
