Joel Anthony (Center) – Joel has shown energy from the first day he stepped on the court. He can’t shoot, although his hands are getting better. He does defend extremely well and has a knack for blocking shots. His timing is near perfect when he is going to try and block a shot.
Eddy Curry (Center) – Eddy has played 6 minutes all season, with last night versus the Lakers being his only time. He has lost weight, which is a
huge step for him, but we dont know how that will translate for him on the court. The Heat don’t need him to be the 18pt 10reb guy he was early in his career, but if he could give them solid minutes out there and be a force in the paint, it would really help them when they play teams with true 7 footers. Only time will tell if Eddy is here at the end of the season.
Mickell Gladness (Center/Power Forward) – Mickell is just happy as anything to still be with the team. He thought he was going to be cut after the preseason, but his hard work paid off and he is still here. His effort is what the Heat liked so much about him. He should only really see playing
time during a blowout, but it important for him to push the guys in front of him at practice to keep them working hard as well.
Dexter Pittman (Center) – Dexter was in the rotation earlier this season, but because of a slow start he has been pushed out and could see even less time as Eddy Curry gets healthier. He is a project player, but hte Heat expect him to seriously contribute in the near future. He just needs to learn to stay out of foul trouble first.
