Miami made a tough decision today releasing Eddie House before the Dallas Mavericks opener. Eddit House was always known as a spark plug. Even when the Heat sucked during those rebuilding years with Anthony Mason, Rod Strickland, Chris Gatling, Jim Jackson, LaPhonso Ellis and Kendall Gill to name a few stellar teams.

I remember it clearly, the team was so terrible, House would come off the bench and fans had something to cheer for, because he had that ability to light it up from the 3 point line.

The Heat made space on their roster for rookies Terrel Harris and Mickell Gladness.

Heat play the Mavs in the season opener – get excited because we owe them something.

There is a rumor that Heat management is looking to bring Keeyon Dooling back. Orlando management was quick to squash the rumor, but I have a feeling because Orlando has too much talent at PG that they might deal after all. I personally would love to get Keeyon back in Miami. I always liked him and he is a really talented player with the right team.

The other possibility is Eddie House. The journeyman (well became a journeyman after the Heat let him go), has become a really solid player with other teams specifically the Suns. I would like to see Eddie House back as well, but would prefer KD.

You’re either in or you’re out. Riley is in and Van Gundy is out. I don’t like it, but the players I guess do.

I know Alonzo is a big Riley fan and vice versa. They have a tremendous amount of respect for each other. Maybe Zo can elevate his offense now.

We have a ton of veterans on our team and they are not gelling correctly. Maybe it was because of Van Gundy, maybe they didn’t respect him enough, maybe it was just because the team was losing and looking for a scape goat.

Riley has been wanting to come back to try and work this clay into a Heat Championship since the playoffs last year. Here is his chance. I really hope this doesn’t screw us up more.

Riley likes Walker’s game alot so I expect the three people to be getting the most touches will be him, Wade, and Shaq. We also see some new defensive schemes, something I have been disappointed in this year.

I’m willing to bet Riley makes us better in the half court offense and defensive boards.

If the glove fits

The fact that the Heat made some offseason moves to bolster the point guard position, has excited me as a fan already.

Adding to the deal making, the Heat organization, is trying to sign Gary Payton. This is enormous! To have a veteran with his experience, is in my mind the missing link to a RING.

His guard play will be much better than Jones ever was on defense. His penetration dribble will allow Wade more open looks. Shaq obviously will get easier baskets. If the Heat are gonna win a championship, they will need Gary Payton to stay healthy with Jayson Williams providing some minutes to offset.
