Miami got the victory again last night, but it wasn’t pretty. Just like every other team the Heat face, the Pistons came out with great energy and
gave it their all throughout the game. Shane Battier started again in place of the injured Dwyane Wade, who missed his 9th game of the season. All
signs point to his return at home on Friday versus the New York Knicks.
The Heat were led again by the duo of LeBron James and Chris Bosh, who are top scoring teammates in the league this year. LeBron led the way last night with 32 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. He also had a few highlight plays, including a behind the back inbounds pass to Mike
Miller for a layup. Bosh added 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. The best part about Bosh’ night was he only missed 3 field goals all
night going 12-15 from the field. The Heat also got a spark off of the bench from Miller who scored 10 points, which is his second highest scoring
mark this season, behind his first game back from injury when he had 18 points.
LeBron closed the game out going 6-6 from the free throw line. “I’ve just got to go up and make them,” James said. “When you get the opportunity, you go up and make them, and then you live with the results.”
With last night’s victory it puts the Heat at 13-5 on the season and in first place in the Southeast Division, with a half game lead over the
Orlando Magic. Miami has a very tough test on Friday against a big rival in the New York Knicks. Barring any setbacks Dwyane Wade should be back in uniform and ready to play against a team that has been up and down all season long. It should be a tough and physical game, so the Heat need to come out and bring their “A” game from the start.
