Welcome Back Rafer Alston
Rafer is starting tonight at the Phoenix Suns game and even though he has shot poorly, he is controlling the ball and dishing it out well to both Wade, and Beasely.

April 19, 2009Ready For The HawksLETS GO HEAT! Ready for the Heat to put a beatdown on the Hawks tonight. It was ajoy to see the 76ers win a close against the Magic tonight as the Magic is a tougher opponent for us if we were to meet them in later rounds. March 18, 2009Heat Lose Close One In OTChalmers and Beasely had to play tough with Wade out. O’Neal had some clutch buckets down at the wire as well. In the end though Pierce got hot and started dropping threes and top of the key twos. We are now tied with Philly for the 6th spot. Ugh. However, the team is playing well. We gotta keep this up.

December 30, 2008What A 4th Quarter Against The CavsAfter Dalonte West and Lebron made a 26-6 run nearly tieing the game, the Miami Heat rallied back big. Chalmers popped a few steals and popped a few threes. 6 threes to be precise to make it 21pts. Daequon Cook dropped 5 threes himself for a total of 17 pts on the game. Both of these guys had 0 turnovers. Of course DWade got his points, but was mostly dishing it out tonight. Marion and Haslem both played excellent supporting roles cutting to the basket and crashing the glass. We needed a Shawn Marion type player so badly. During UD’s rookie years he was the only guy really rebounding and constantly crashing the boards. Now we have two hustlers and it is a major difference in our overall team defense and second chance points. Like I’ve said before, this team can play with anyone and they just proved it by leading one of the best teams in the league the entire game. Now if Beasely would get going we’ll be hitting on all cylinders. Joel Anthony sat most of the game.

Heat Up 16 Against The Cavs At The HalfHeat are playing once again with good team ball. Wade is dishing it out and scoring as well. Cook continues to be hot. He is this year’s Damon Jones, Dan Marjele, or Veshon Leonard dropping 3′s at will. This team is also making defense a focus. We probably are having one of our better rebounding years as we seem to continue to do great off the glass. I don’t know the figures though, I’m guestimating.

December 26, 2008Heat Beat Bulls, What About Cleveland? So over the holidays I was talking with some out of towners and they seem to think the Heat are mediocre. Are they? Am I dillusional that I think they are playing some of the best basketball I’ve seen throughout the past 20 years or is it that they are just playing well above expectations? Joel Anthony is turning out to be a real find. Two blocked shots inside of 5 minutes. I know the Bulls sucks, but they have always played us tough no matter what.

December 3, 2008Heat Break A Utah Jazz Streak With WinThe Miami Heat beat the Utah Jazz somewhat comfortably and lead, I think, the entire game. This team contends from start to finish and its just a joy to watch. The Miami Heat go 3-2 on their road trip.

December 2, 2008One of My Favorite All Time Reg Season VictoriesSo the final seconds go like this. We are down by 3 and Wade gets the inbound and heads to the baseline for a 3 point quick shot. It misses and Golden State’s Jama Crawford rebounds the ball and BAM, Chris Quinn comes flying in and causes enough disruption to where Crawford falls out of bounds. Heat ball. Then Daequon Cook inbounds under the net to Chris Quinn on a wrap around where he nails a 3 pointer in front of the Warriors bench with 7 seconds left. Michael Beasley is pumping his fists in happiness and looking up at the opposite scoreboard when he remembers to pressure the inbound. Andris Biedrins inbounds the ball to Crawford and Beasley shoots in front and steals the ball. He then charges the basket and rainbows the layup which gets blocked by Biedrins, but catches the blocked ball and puts it up and misses, BUT gets fouled. He makes the first and misses the second putting the Heat UP one. Stephen Jackson inbounds to Crawford, who had been red hot all night, dribble drives and lays one up on a popper and it rims out. Heat win 130-129 in one of the best reg games I’ve ever seen. This Heat team contests the opponent throughout the entire game. During the Shaq years we would always lag and make a huge surge in the 4th quarter. Now we play a much more balanced game and its exciting to watch. Utah Jazz are up Wednesday. |
