Miami made a tough decision today releasing Eddie House before the Dallas Mavericks opener. Eddit House was always known as a spark plug. Even when the Heat sucked during those rebuilding years with Anthony Mason, Rod Strickland, Chris Gatling, Jim Jackson, LaPhonso Ellis and Kendall Gill to name a few stellar teams.

I remember it clearly, the team was so terrible, House would come off the bench and fans had something to cheer for, because he had that ability to light it up from the 3 point line.

The Heat made space on their roster for rookies Terrel Harris and Mickell Gladness.

Heat play the Mavs in the season opener – get excited because we owe them something.

The NBA has reached a deal with the players union. Basketball will start in time for Christmas. Maybe we get that Heat/Lakers game that traditionally happens on NBC – if they shuffle games around.

A shortened season increases the odds that the Miami Heat can win this year imo.

Lebron Brand Hits the College Level

Starting this upcoming college basketball season the University of Miami, Ohio State University, and University of Kentucky will be representing the Lebron brand, by wearing uniforms and warm-ups with the LBJ logo on them. This is the first time since Jordan Brand broke into the college level that an NBA star is spreading his name throughout the college ranks.

The idea of an athlete growing his name into such a recognizable brand is very exciting. People give these athletes so much grief about making millions of dollars and wasting it. What Lebron has done and continues to do should be done by more superstar athletes out there.

Wade Hitting the KFC Drive-thru

Word on the street is that while growing up in Chicago, Dwyane Wade worked at a local KFC drive-thru window. KFC is offering Wade the chance to come back and relive the experience this summer while the NBA is in their labor dispute.

KFC has said they will donate $250,000 to charity if Wade comes back to his old stomping ground. While the thought of him actually doing it doesn’t seem high, it is a genius marketing move on KFC’s part. The
line for the drive thru window would be as long as the line to get KFC U.S. general manager John Cywinski says that the company has always been proud of Wade and looks to hire people with his skills like “teamwork and the ability to make buckets in a hurry.”

Only time will tell what Wade decides to do with his new found free time.
