Bench Players Looked Great!

November 10th, 2005 @ 11:01:46 PM

Well last night the bench was scrubbish against Indy and tonight they looked good. You can attribute the bench being outplayed by Indy’s excellent team, but tonight they played great. I really liked the minutes Posey and Simien gave us. Udonis Haslem had a pretty good game as well. Considering he won’t get as much ball time as last year.

Doing all the little things that we needed to see, the bench really supported the starters particularly in the first half.

Once again, the underheight center, Mr Block himself, Alonzo Mourning getting the job done. I’m not saying hes the reason for the victory, but he’s giving everything hes got and without him in the paint tonight we would’ve been in trouble.

Jason Williams finally decided pull up his pants and do something. JWill had a very nice stint in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

What was up with that baloney foul call on Payton at the end of the game? 3 shots my ass.

When is Dwayne Wade gonna get a foul call? Moreover, when is Yao Ming gonna get called for a foul?

Overall the Heat did spread the ball around to everyone. Dwayne was playing poor in the first half, but continued to cut to the basket and assist others. I still can’t believe we have this guy on our team.

Our Bench Players Are Looking Scrubby

November 9th, 2005 @ 9:33:03 PM

Our team looks really loose. Really everyone except Wade, Haslem, and ZoMoney. This guy has how many blocks in the first half?!

I’ve always been a big Zo fan. Even when his temper has hurt us.

Hopefully these scrubs can work together and scrap a win over the Pacers.

I want to see J Will do something already.

Wade Makes Free Throw to Hold Off New Jersey

November 8th, 2005 @ 12:20:03 AM

The Miami Heat held off the New Jersey Nets 90-89 Monday night at the American Airlines Arena. Dwayne Wade not only hit a crucial free throw with 5 seconds left in the game, but he blocked Vince Carter’s shot at the buzzer to win the game. Vince Carter was tough all night leading all scorers with 32 points. Dwayne Wade had 23 to lead the Heat. Some big minutes from Alonzo Mourning while Shaquille O’neal is out. Zo finished with 11 PTS and 11 TR also 5 BLK in 38 minutes. This was the most minutes he has played in a game since 2002.

Overall it was a team effort with everyone in the rotation scoring. Gary Payton chipped in 13 and Jason Kapano helped with 6 rounding the total bench scoring. This team looked good against a tough Nets team without Janes Posey and Shaquille O’neal. When they both comeback this team is gonna blow teams out.

Wade Buzzer 3 Rims Out

November 4th, 2005 @ 5:04:09 PM

Dwayne Wade created with 3.9 seconds and almost banked it in. Looks like the heat were a couple minutes off this game. They need to make free throws if they are gona win games against good opponents. The misses at the line keep piling up. I saw Alonzo Mourning and Antoine Walker both getting to the line but not converting when it counts. They will have success and much more wins if they can make free throws at the end of these close games. Updates on X-rays on Shaquille O’Neal were negative thank god. He will be back in a 3 weeks. I thought he broke his ankle.

Gary Payton and Dwayne Wade In The 4th

November 3rd, 2005 @ 10:29:47 PM

Both are playing exceptional in the 4th quarter and are giving us our chance at this game. With Shaq down on his ankle, Zo has also stepped up with a block shot.

Haslem got the last garbage basket after Payton laid up another reverse right handed lay up where I thought Jermaine O’Neal came close to trapping the ball on the backboard bringing the Miami Heat within 1 point.

Jermaine O’Neal made both foul shots just now extending the Pacers lead to 3 again. Lets see what we can do in the last minute.

4th Quarter Pacers Game

The difference maker so far bringing the score closer is Gary Payton. Three steals turning into points. Nice job Glove.

Pacers Rocking Heat Right Now

November 3rd, 2005 @ 9:27:05 PM

The Pacers look good and again the Heat have such trouble with them. Year after year, the Pacers are our toughest adversary.

Do we have an answer for Ron Artest and Jermaine O’Neal? Not really. Haslem is undersized and is playing poorly in this game, but its not his fault. Haslem hasn’t fell into his role yet.

Charles Barkely touched on this at half time. The Heat are lacking definition. Are the Miami Heat going to be a half court team or a speed team?

Imho, Van Gundy, has to get his line ups right. You know Antoine can play both, but obviously prefers the speed as I just saw his lay up +1. Wade, I like in either line up, but prefer him in the half court to provide the dazzle and come into the game later in the speed line ups similar to what was run last year. I like Haslem, Shaq, and Payton together right now. Take JWill, Zo, Antoine, DWade, and maybe Payton or Kapono seeing minutes and there you have your small ball speed line up.

We have to get our line ups right and play the system for those line ups. If we don’t, then we minimize our players talents.

Currently the way this Pacers game is running it sort of makes Haslem a non-factor. He needs to be setting those high picks and rolling hard. As I type Mourning records block #2. I love Zo.

Heat Look Good Against Memphis

November 3rd, 2005 @ 9:18:10 PM

I was very impressed with the play of the Heat against Memphis Grizzlies last night.

The team still hasn’t gelled and that was obvious. Watching the Pacers game now on my own tv and it doesn’t look good.
